…and I’ll sleep sound tonight.
So, the Pentagon is investing a few million dollars in a project that will be developed by
DARPA to creating “synthetic organisms” that can basically live forever, but nothing to be worried about, they can be instructed to self-destruct with the turn of a molecular switch in case something goes wrong.
mmm, honestly, what could go wrong?
Well, the project sound pretty interesting, I mean…
As part of its budget for the next year, Darpa is investing $6 million into a project called BioDesign, with the goal of eliminating “the randomness of natural evolutionary advancement.” The plan would assemble the latest bio-tech knowledge to come up with living, breathing creatures that are genetically engineered to “produce the intended biological effect.” Darpa wants the organisms to be fortified with molecules that bolster cell resistance to death, so that the lab-monsters can “ultimately be programmed to live indefinitely.”
I wonder what would be the use of such technology, after all history is
lacking evidence of any invention or discovery that was used for evil proposals, am I wrong?
